APPLICATION FOR CITIZENSHIP
Form N-400 is filed to apply for citizenship through naturalization. It may take upto 4-5 months to process the N-400 application depending on the backlog of USCIS.
INTERVIEW
At the interview, USCIS asks you questions about your application and conducts Civics and English testing.
Most USCIS officers will give you a decision right after interview. However, officer may need more information or additional time to review your application and make a decision.
CIVIS AND ENGLISH TESTING
Applicants must pass Civis and English test to pass the interview unless exempted.
OATH CEREMONY
Once the applicant satisfies all the requirements of the application and passes all required testing, he or she will be given a notice to participate in the Oath Ceremony.
OTHER WAYS TO BECOME A U.S. CITIZEN OR DERIVATE CITIZENSHIP
An applicant (usually minors) may be able to get derivate citizenship through his or her parent. Please contact our office for more details on such process.
